S. E. "Bud" Pues provides consultation and training to individuals with special learning needs and to programs serving people with special learning needs.

     Early in his professional career Bud completed two Bachelor Degree programs, one in Religious Studies and another in Social Group Work Education besides a Elementary Teaching Credential. Since moving to California in 1965 he has obtained a Master's Degree in Education Administration with a specialization in Special Education from CSUN ( California State University , Northridge) and several Life Teaching Credentials. For the past several years Bud has specialized in the areas of Literacy and Learning Disabilities/Differences of adults, and the new brain research and its impact on the learning process.

     Mr. Pues has over 35 years experience as classroom teacher, special education teacher, administrator of Special Education programs, State Consultant for Special Programs, consultant and staff trainer, college and university adjunct instructor, and currently teaches for UCLA and UCR in the teacher credential programs. For the past 10 years he has provided private screening and assessment of adults with learning disabilities/differences and for seven years has volunteered his services to California Literacy, Inc. as well as serving on its Board of Directors. Bud has also been active in the area of Correctional Education for over 20 years, serving on the Area VII Board as well as providing a wide variety of consultation and training to correctional programs throughout the State and nationwide. He is also well known in the Adult Education field as a trainer and consultant, especially to programs for adults with special needs, and continues to provide contract services to many sites and through area and state conferences. While serving as the State Consultant for Adults with Disabilities Bud was the lead developer of the CASAS Tests for Adults with Disabilities and the STRETCH curriculum for adults with developmental disabilities.

     In his role as staff developer and consultant, Bud has written numerous articles and training manuals including materials on Learning Styles, Brain-compatible Learning, Teaching the Hard-to-Reach, Multiple Intelligences, Multicultural Education, Behavior Management, and Adults with Disabilities (ADHD, Dyslexia).

     Mr. Pues continues to maintain his membership in a variety of professional organizations including LDA (Learning Disability Association), local and national chapters, IDA (International Dyslexia Association), local and national chapters, CEA (Correctional Education Association), local and national chapters, CCAE (California Council on Adult Education), ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and NAASLN (National Association of Adults with Special Learning Needs).
